There are about 200 animals in the zoo today. This collection consists of over 150 species, many of which are included in the Lithuanian and International Red Books.
Klaipeda Zoo started its activities in 2001. Edvardas Legeckas, the founder of the garden.
The zoo is located 10 kilometers from Klaipeda. It is important for the development of Klaipeda region tourism and recreation infrastructure. The activities of the garden are constantly expanding, various programs for the conservation of endangered animals are beginning to be launched more rapidly and educational and acquaintanceship programs are being organized and carried out.
Since 2014, the garden has received the status of a zoo and changed its name. The Klaipeda Zoo can be proud for having one of the rarest white tigers in the Baltic States.
