Cultural Center of Peace

All year long on weekends and in the summer months every day concerts, chamber performances, literary evenings and book presentations, non-commercial cinema sessions are taking place here.

In 1938 a businessman of Palanga Kazimieras Milasius bought a plot with a dwelling house in Vytauto st. 35 and decided to build the first movie theater in the area. He completed his plans in the 1940s. At the end of the same year, his property was nationalized and turned into a cultural center of the Soviet era. In fifty years, a movie theater, a metrics bureau, and a music club were established. And from 1973 Palanga City Cultural Department operated here.

Several years ago, the neighboring Villa “Ramybe” took over the management and cultivation of this unique Palanga cultural space. The villa has created an exceptional “tranquility” aura in more than a decade of sincere work, in which time the art, culture, other people who are interested in art or just open to it gather to spend time.
